And without further ado, please welcome Mr. A to the world. You see, he was reluctant to join us, taking his sweet time, and arriving at 40 weeks and 5 days. This is a man who knows what he wants out of life: naps, mama, and maybe some sports. His intense eyes were a joy to capture. He has such a serious, thoughtful face — like he’s always wondering about something very important.
His big sister was eager to help out behind the camera, but had no interest in modeling with her new brother. While we were all a bit sad that we didn’t get sibling shots, some days, 2 year olds make their own plan. However, if you’d like to see her pretty face, and her brother prior to his arrival, here is their family’s snowy maternity session I had the privilege of shooting earlier this winter.
Mr. A’s mom wanted to keep this session natural and organic, not overly styled. As you can see, the timeless, neutral color palette makes these photos both modern and suitable to hang on this family’s walls for years to come.
Dad’s wanted to be sure we that I got a few shots of his new son with his prized autographed sports memorabilia – these shots will be ideal for dad’s “sport’s room.” He wouldn’t even remove the football or the bat from their protective packaging until we were ready to shoot – these are really special, and it was beautiful to see the hope of future games in dad’s eyes. Mr. A made his dad proud for those shots – gripping the bad like a pro. For all you sports fans, I think this qualifies as Chicago Newborn Sports Photographer – which is a special privilege!
As you know, photographing family together is one of the greatest joys of my life, and in many ways, the pinnacle and purpose of my career.
Thank you, you beautiful family, for welcoming me into your home and allowing me to create something beautiful. You truly give me so much to work with every time we get together. ~ Gina
