Some days, you just have all the luck. This was one of those days. The mother of this spunky little one year old is one of my dearest and
oldest best friends. Today, she brought all three of her children to the studio, and we were able to catch up, capture the children at their finest, and generally have the best time! I know her children well, and it’s such a privilege to be both their friend and their photographer. This is how it should always be.
Ms. E turned one, and her outfits were minnie mouse themed to match her birthday party, St. Patrick’s Day because they are irish, and some bright coral colors, because it’s springtime. As you can see, she has a knack for style, and wore each better than the last.
The oldest sister, Ms.G, chose her poses for me as usual. She’s become a real natural in front of the camera, and we’ve found that I capture the best of her when I let her take the lead. Truly, she’s a natural.
If you’ve been following our work for long, you will know that we love detail shots of baby toes and eyelashes. But what you may not know is that catching a one year old with her toes not wiggling, or her lashes not batting is as challenging as anything I’ve ever had to do as a photographer. This little lady gave me a run for my money, but eventually, after some tickling and tackling, she came around and shoed off those toes. I think you’ll agree, it was worth the struggle.
It’s been another successful day in the studio- catching up with a dear friend, spending some precious time with her children, and forever capturing the elusive beauty of those beautiful baby toes. This is why I grew up to be a Chicago Baby Photographer. Baby toes. ~ Gina
Toes & Lashes. So worth it.
