A new baby is like the beginning of all things – wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.

of your sweet little story. The part where your page meets mine, no matter where your tale takes you
tomorrow our story will always read
love.”
this is the quote chosen by kim and john for the nursery, and i am working on putting it into word art for them in print. i read it and it hasn’t left my mind since (it is actually a huge part of my new site….coming very soon now
)
many of you know kim, maybe from mutual friends, around town, or helping my out over the past couple of years. she has been a godsend at times for me. many car rides to client’s homes were spent discussing her future photo sessions, and how excited she will be to finally be a client. leaving a session last year, we stopped for our usual starbucks treat. kim made a comment about about how she wanted caffeine free…first i thought this girl lost her mind, then it came to me. it is Kim’s turn!
the vision for this shoot was simple. capture the time in their current home town. we drove around jumping out of the car and picking spots. kim really wanted to take photos by the grain elevators, and john joked we should have just gone to chipotle to get the same look
kim and john are the world’s best couple. so fun, inviting, and always happy.they are going to be wonderful parents and this baby is going to be spoiled with love. i am so excited to meet this baby soon. and kim is so excited to use the yarn prop…lol!

I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. ~The Notebook
I sent N location ideas for her maternity session and she immediately replied she loved the one below. Because it reminded her of The Notebook. N is a romantic and amazingly gorgeous. She loves all things old (those chairs are hers) and wanted the session to bring out that romantic era. The car P built himself, and has had my hubby even drooling. N ‘s styling incorporated gloves, a Chanel purse, and fabulous hair and makeup. All of which had me swooning.
Rain kept us away two weeks in a row, but the third time was the charm. The lighting and weather was perfect.
Thank you to N and P for coming to me with this amazing concept. You are a beautiful couple and that little girl is so very lucky! I can’t wait to meet her!

Last week was a busy week of newborns. Two sweet boys met me at the studio, and i went to meet one lovely little lady. Plus one beautiful glowing mama.
Please welcome these adorable babies to the world!
(ps I know I am posting on the wrong blog…GCP is currently being switched over to a new custom site, and it is just easier until then to post in one spot)

I can not be more grateful for the beautiful families, awesome styling by Jen, and the help from Kim. This day went off without a hitch! The images are perfection!
I loved meeting all the new families and seeing return clients. People walked by actually asking what magazine we were shooting for!
Thank you all again for making this such a success from the spots filling up in 30 minutes down to all the lovely feedback on the images.
There are seven dates set throughout next year for….

{had to give them a sweet name since they were so fabulous and popular!}
We are already brainstorming on themes and locations! I will be posting the details and when booking will open soon, so you will know if you got a spot ahead of time or if you need to book another date. {fyi two months next year the weekends are already booked but weekdays are open for those two months!} Due to wanting to spend more time with the family I am only booking a certain number of sessions a week for 2011, so please contact me with your due date or if you already know a date you want. I am hoping the La Dolce sessions help with getting everyone in. I still can not get over how blessed I am to have so many families to work with!
Click here to view a video slideshow of some of the images from this year {not happy with how unfocused they came out in this slideshow…working on fixing it. If you would like to see them in better quality please go to Facebook.com/GinaCristinePhotography}
Maternity and newborn photos now are blogged over at Blessed {Bebe} http://ginacristinephotography.com/Blessed_Bebe/
I invite you to go and take a look around!
Please remember that {Fresh} and {Glow} sessions have moved over to the Blessed {BeBe} blog. http://ginacristinephotography.com/Blessed_Bebe/ Same GCP style, just a more quiet and peaceful background for these precious moments. There are two new newborns posted there! Will you please stop by and oh and ah over them….maybe even leave some love {comments}

April 22nd is Earth Day and I am wondering if anyone is making any changes this year? I myself am always on a quest to try something natural and organic, though it is hard to stick to it. Busy schedules tend to make it hard to research and spend time in the grocery store. Even my husband Tom goes often due to how busy GCP has been lately. I know I will never be 100% organic or green. I do not walk around saying “I am organic” because we bought organic produce that week. But I am sure going to try to make changes and stick with them from now on. Going “green/organic” does not always mean food. I read the book Gorgeously Green by Sophie Uliano two summers ago. It is an easy to read fun book about changing the small things slowly. What intrigued me the most about Sophie’s book is the beauty section, and all that is in our products…scary
but eye opening. In this article she talks about the ingredients to avoid. It is for sure a book a recommend and below is a link to her website.
Here is Sophie’s post from today in honor of Earth Day….are you up to the challenge?
Embarking on a greener lifestyle connects to the innate desire that most of us have to do something good – to affect change in some way during our lifetime. As things in our high tech world become increasingly transient, we all harbor a deep need to hold onto that which is timeless. Just taking a walk along a beach or even staring up at the night sky can be enough of a reminder that we need to take great care of this miraculous planet.
To celebrate Earth Day, switch off your computer and all handheld devices (don’t you hate when they say that on the plane?), and go take a walk where there’s some semblance of nature. Plan one whole hour where you’ll be totally incommunicado, take some deep breaths, re-group, and think about what your next small step will be. I’ll be joining you – phone off, in a small meditation area that I set up in my backyard. Away from children, dogs and even my lovely husband, I’ll find some calm – just hope it doesn’t rain!” Sophie Uliano Gorgeously Green April 21, 2010 http://www.gorgeouslygreen.com/every-step-counts/
I am for sure planning on doing this today. But hopefully it will be with Ava and Tom, but for sure not my crackberry {blackberry}. As you can see by the images below I have found a new spot that needs to be explored even more by my camera. This is my way of seeing the beauty of this Earth and makes me want to do more to protect and preserve it.

GCP’s Little Green Step Forward
I am excited to say that GCP is doing it’s part to be a little greener as well! I have been working really hard on setting up an electronic client information and consent form. I also am converting my welcome packet to a psd packet. The welcome packet is getting a little makeover to go with the new site as well. Soon when you book your appointment you will be sent a link to an electronic form to fill out your information, sign the policies, and consent to photography. Once that is received you will be sent a psd packet with session information and tips, policies, styling guide, and more! This will cut done on paper significantly and hopefully a step forward into helping out our amazing mother earth
.
I would love for you to leave your comments below on your step to doing something green!
