P I N this to pinterestmaybe someday this hand will be holding the cup….

Yesterday my family and I had a chance of a lifetime, we got to touch and spend time with Lord Stanley. As many of you know my family owns Southwest Ice Arena in Crestwood, and yesterday the Stanley Cup came to visit the rink thanks to Blackhawk trainer Mike Gapski. The morning started with a private viewing for family and staff and then went outside for a public viewing. After the public viewing there was  a short period of time where we really got to get close to the cup. These are the memories Tom and I said we would never forget. At this time is when I got to really photograph the cup, we found Eddie Olczyk’s name, Ava got to stand next to it, and just starred in awe at all the names, engravings, and history. You could see the dents and bruises the cup has got over the years and the seams where the layers are added. It was a dream and these pictures are priceless. If you were there for the private viewing theimages will be posted in the gallery on July 5th

Thank you so much for the wonderful pictures…didn’t get a chance to see it up close.ReplyCancel

When the G family pulled up and opened the batch hatch of their suv, I died and went to heaven! Mom brought so many goodies and props, I knew that the session was going to go perfectly. I love the vintage look she was going for and I have hundreds of images to show off. But I wont. These children are just so cute, and really did well with all the outfit changes. I think S needs to seriously consider styling some more of my sessions 😉 Please also check out S and her Mom’s awesome business Bella Vita Originals,http://www.bellavitaoriginals.com/. She made the amazing Family and Sophia signs. They make awesome props for your next session and fabulous decorations for your home.

Good afternoon friends! As I continue to dream and plan for the future of GCP, I often dream of a little natural light space just for newborn sessions. I wonder if you (as a new parent) would come to a studio or prefer your home as the location for a newborn session.  Some pros to the newborn studio:

~I know the lighting and temperature of the room (both make a huge difference)

~I can have even more props, and unique ways to take images of your precious little one (baskets, slings, an actual backdrop stand ;), wood flooring…oh the possibilities!)

~parents will have a comfortable and relaxing environment to be in while the baby is having his/her picture taken. You will have a space to feed and change baby as well.

~the space would be clean and quiet, no one else would be there at the same time. This would be appointment only.

~ I have even thought of setting up a a newborn studio in my own home for a while to test out the idea

~Sessions scheduled at the “studio” would be a lower session fee than the on location session fee. So the option to have a session in your home would still be avaiable

Please leave comments and take the poll to let me know what you think. This space would also be my office space where I could display products, and if you wish, you can come to meet to view your gallery.

This amazing family was so fun to work with and are they no the most stunning family? J and T’s eyes are just beautiful and they both have the sweetest personalities {and awesome sense of style}. We got so many great images from their new home and then a local park, that it made it hard to choose!

*Please read below sneak peek for some Monday GCP news*

I have a few things to say this morning 🙂

1. I am really going to have to be stricter with the two week limit on galleries. The reason there is a two week limit is because it takes up space on the site and then I am not able to load new client’s galleries. If space gets extremely limited then I am not able to receive new mail. Some have contacted me about leaving their gallery up and I appreciate that and will leave your galleries posted. But if I have not heard anything from you, then I need to take them down.

2. Some exciting new things will be announced soon! Gina and Tara Photography is working on a blog site for weddings and four amazing wedding packages to choose from, plus dates and packages for Boudoir photography. Keep an eye on the blog and FB.

3. New contest will be announced for a family to win a free session just in time for the Holidays. Stay tuned to FB and the blog for details. Families will have to be nominated for this contest.

4. Thank you all for being patient for your galleries. As most of you know I am now in my third trimester and all of a sudden exhaustion has set in. I have also already been hospitalized for doing too much. I purposely slowed down my scheduling in July and August to make sure I get your photos back in a timely manner, so the turn around time will be getting quicker 🙂 As many of you know, I show you MANY images in your gallery and that takes up time as well.

5. If you are due or have been thinking about scheduling a photo session this summer I suggest you contact me soon. Like I said above I am limiting myself in July and August and have limited space left! I will be slowly coming back Mid October and then the cut off for Christmas orders will be the day before Thanksgiving. I do schedule sessions in December, but I do not guarantee orders in time for Christmas after Thanksgiving. I have also been taking appointments for next year already, so don’t be afraid to ask if you would like a special date next year.

6. Many of you will be excited to know I will be teaching three classes next year. I will me hosting them on my own, so I am still looking for location. They will be three different levels and there will be one a month that way if you want to take all three you can. There will be a basic for those of you who don’t know anything but how to turn your DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) on. The second will go into angles, finding the light, and more advanced posing techniques. The third class will require photoshop elements and a laptop. This class will focus more on post processing.

I hope you all have a great week, looks like it will be a rainy one in Chicago
