A few months ago it was Bug’s 2 year birthday photo session and Monkey’s 9 month. Bug was not too much into that but Monkey was all smiles. This time for Monkey’s one year photo session, he was having no part of the camera, but Bug was a dream! We took advantage of the first warm day and the few trees that were blooming. I will be back to get Monkey smiling, like I know he can….

We recently lost a firefighter in our area in the line of duty. This has not happened in our area in a very long time. It makes me think back on how lucky I am to say I have so many firefighters in my life and have since I was born. They are all here and safe. I am so proud of every single one, and so happy I have them all in my life.

I pulled out some pictures that I have taken mostly for projects in photography courses {some are even scanned from a darkroom course I took with a film slr in 2000}, and a few are from a retired fireman’s service.

First of all this little peanut has my new favorite nickname {peanut butter}. She truly is a peanut being 6 months old and 12 pounds. She has the most beautiful chocolate eyes and her smile lights up her whole face. Here is her little sneak peek

Finally is Chicago the weather is breaking, everyone is in a good mood, and everyone’s main goal is to get outside. Besides hearing kids play, smelling the spring air, feeling the sun on your coatless arms, and seeing all you neighbors again for the first time on months, there are the obvious signs. The signs that the hard winter really is over, and nature can return to thrive.  To me, I wait and watch for these obvious signs every year since I was little: the robin, the green sprouts, the blossoms on the trees…. P I N this to pinterestP I N this to pinterestP I N this to pinterestP I N this to pinterest
